Nestling at the bottom of Whinfell Forest, the Weigh Office was once used to weigh goods carried, to or from Cliburn Station, along the Eden Valley Railway. It now offers unique, compact self-catering holiday accommodation with private garden, decking overlooking a 14 acre wood and parking for one vehicle. The Weigh Office can accommodate a maximum of two people. It offers a lounge (with views of the Signal Box and Whinfell Forest), a modern kitchen, a bathroom and a double bed on a mezzanine. Underfloor heating is provided by an environmentally friendly geothermal ground source heat pump. *Please note that the mezzanine is accessed via a ladder from the lounge and that the sleeping area has restricted space and headroom. Unfortunately (due to its historic nature, steps and ladders) this property does not have wheelchair access and is not suitable for guest with restricted mobility. Lounge 32" TV with freesat, DVD player, iPod docking station with radio, a 2 seater leather sofa, wardrobe & drawers, cosy wood burning stove and ladders to access bed mezzanine. Kitchen Electric oven, ceramic hob, fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, two individual folding dining tables. Bedroom Double bed on mezzanine accessed by a ladder from the lounge and large velux skylight window perfect for star gazing at night. Bathroom Walk in shower, sink, WC, mirror and shaver socket. Garden Private graveled area, parking for one vehicle, large raised decked area overlooking a private 14 acre wood, garden furniture and barbecue. Facilities Towels, bath-mat, tea-towel, bed linen, hoover, iron and ironing board are provided, Travel cot and high chair are available on request. Due to size the property does not have a freezer or washing machine, however guests are more than welcome to use the owners. Washing will incur an additional charge/load excluding detergents. A small amount of wood is provided for guests to enjoy the wood-burning stove, but further supplies should be purchased as heat is provided by the underfloor heating and is included in the price, along with electricity. Bicycle storage is available to all our guests in our secure barn. Please ask for details. Please note that the Weigh Office is pet and smoke free due to the high standard of finish and decoration.
